ICON started in 2021 with our Community Coffee House in Surbiton. A small and welcoming space that was built around local connections. As the company grew, so did the expansion of locations, introducing ICON’s Coffee & Brunch Surbiton. The first cafe with a full kitchen, allowing us to serve scrumptious brunch dishes alongside our speciality coffee.

Fast forward to 2025, and we expanded again with Matcha Kingston, a modern takeaway concept that focused on matcha drinks and healthy bites.

The local residents of Surbiton and Kingston keep our company thriving. It was our first location, the Community Coffee House in Surbiton, that started it all.
What began in the middle of the pandemic was a vision of community coffee in Surbiton. Providing the best possible products with the best possible service. The idea was to create an environment and space that felt welcoming to anyone and everyone.

In a big city like London, community is important, and many bonding experiences form over a good cup of coffee.

The Coffee & Brunch shop was created to bring Surbitionians an elevated coffee experience. All of the above offerings partnered up with exceptional service in the prettiest of venues.

Matcha has fast become a popular alternative to those who want the benefits of caffeine – but without the caffeine.
We wanted to create matcha drinks that looked pretty but didn’t compromise on flavour. And with that, Matcha at ICON was born.

We’ll soon by opening a takeaway shop in Kingston Town Centre, and are looking forward to welcoming you there!

Had a delicious banana matcha made by the lovely barista behind the counter with the brown hair. She was very knowledgeable and friendly, and makes absolutely fantastic matcha!!!! Was very impressed by the range of the matcha as well. Will be coming again, I’m sure the food is just as good

My favourite brunch spots in Surbiton. The food is always fresh and well presented, the coffee is excellent, and the team are consistently welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and vibrant, whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee or a leisurely brunch. Highly recommended and somewhere I keep coming back to.

What an amazing find! My friend and I had just left the Surbiton Health Centre, where there were no refreshment outlets, so we were delighted to find this little café not far from the health centre. My friend uses an electric wheelchair, and the café was easy to access. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the décor was delightful. My friend could easily see all the cakes on display and she chose a lovely cake that she really enjoyed. The coffee was delicious and I was delighted that the café had decaffeinated coffee and plant milk available too. We were served by lovely Summer, who was warm, friendly and engaging. She is a real asset to ICON and we look forward to returning when we are in the area again. We have plans to work our way through the cake choices! 🙂

Always brilliant service, food is delicious and their coffee is the best. They’ve actually put me off everyone else’s coffee.
Also they have brilliant gluten free options.
